In celebration of this weeks Force Awakens premier we present to you Death Star! Finally an indica that is appropriate for night and day time. Of course it would be named after Star Wars. Death Star is a blend of the indica strain Sensi Star and the sativa Sour Diesel. Both strains have such dramatic effects that you would think the high from them being put together would drive you insane. Death Star is known to be a heavy indica, which is true but, the amount of euphoria that it takes from its sativa side is amazing. This strain is recommended for daytime or nighttime. It has great pain relief and tones of mental help. I would say this is a great strain to keep around for an anytime use. Its fairly popular now-a-days so, i'm sure you won't have trouble finding it! Keep it real! -Colin
When crossing the Blueberry indica strain and the legendary Haze sativa strain, you get an absolute amazing hybrid called BLUE DREAM!!! This strain is as good as it sounds. Every aspect that you look for in a sativa and a indica strain is within this strain. This type of hybrid is considered a sativa dominate. What that means is, when you smoke blue dream you get the euphoric creativeness that you would from a normal sativa but also, you get the relaxing pain relief that you would get from a normal indica. Patients that suffer from pain, depression, or nausea love this strain because normally they would have to smoke a heavy indica to relieve the threshold of these symptoms. Which usually make you very tired and unmotivated. But, because blue dream shares the best of both worlds, it doesn't make you drowsy but still gives you the pain relief with the desired motivation. A great strain to have in the morning with your cup of coffee.
Have an awesome week!!!! Peace -Colin
This strain is the one that everyone brings up when they try to nay-say marijuana. In no way at all does Green Crack have anything to do with real crack or even butt cracks for that matter. This strain was originally known as "Cush" and hit the scene in the early 90's in SoCal. Somewhere in its travels thru California, Cush got sold to Snoop Dogg and his crew. Its said that Snoop Dogg took a few hits of Cush and said that he was going to call it Green Crack for now on because of how quickly it hits you with energy and how much he just wanted to keep smoking it. This strain is a fantastic morning weed. It gives you every benefit of caffeine and gives you a lot of creative juices. Artist tend to keep Green Crack around cause of how well it helps to break through creative barriers. A great med for anyone who needs motivation, stress relief, anti-depression and pain relief. This is one of the most sought after strains out!!! Have a hazy week ya pot heads! -Colin
TRAINWRECK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I. Fa-king. Love. This. Strain!!!! Seriously tho, one of the best scented and best tasting types of marijuana in my opinion. If you are looking for a cerebral “head high”, as the kids are calling it these days, this is a perfect strain to pick up. Trainwreck has been a household name for us marijuana abusers for decades now. I’m sure if you said the name “trainwreck” around your hippy parents, they would know exactly what you’re talking about. Besides giving a crazy awesome head buzz, this strain is great for patients that suffer from depression, anxiety, appetite stimulant, cramps associated with PMS, RLS, DDD, nausea, muscle aches, and eases pain from nerve damage. I personally have found myself leaning towards this strain whenever I’m in need of a pick me up. It helps take a bad mood and turn it right around. It’s also great to smoke during the day because it gives you a euphoric state of mind with a high amount of energy.
Smoke em if you got em boys and girls! Have a gnarly week!

Last February my wife and I had the opportunity to make the pilgrimage to Milwaukee. Best known for Harley Davidson and all the beer, and the host of our final destination the Mama Tried motorcycle show! The atmosphere and the bikes at the show were killer. Tattoos getting blasted, beers getting smashed, and amazing two wheeled machines every where you looked. I can't think of a place if rather be or any other place you should be this year when it all happens again!
Go check out the website for details. Hope to see you there!!

Gose. You already said it wrong. Pronounced Go-zuh, this style of beer, originating from German, is a refreshingly tart, wheat beer. Much like your typical berliner weisse except one extra ingredient. Salt water. Weird? Yup. Delicious? Absolutely. The style is old as shit, dating back to before the 1900's, gose's are slowly (but thankfully) coming back as craft brewers look to keep pushing the envelope. Very few American breweries do this style but Anderson Valley said they were going to do it year-round. Then they said they were going to can it. Thus your new favorite summer thirst quencher was born. Lightly acidic, lemony tartness, easy on the wheat malt. This beer is super drinkable. Even at 4.2%abv the flavor has you coming back for more. It's like if Mike's hard lemonade wasn't complete dog shit. This style and beer for me, is as refreshing as it gets. Pair one of these with the other 5 in the sixer you pick up. Sold where finer beers are carried. Seriously, just go buy this beer. Cheers!

Hellmouths first appeared as the gaping jaws of monsters in Anglo-Saxon Artwork and Mediaeval Theatre.
Most examples before the 12th century were English, and it is speculated that they originate from the Pagan Myth of Fenrir, the Wolf-Monster.

Recently we had a chance to interview Like Statues NEW frontman Eric Booth. Eric talks about recently joining the band and about all the cool things they have in the works this fall/winter. One of which is a new EP called "HELL" that will feature songs influenced by the Seven deadly sins. Here is the Teaser for their new Single "Gluttony"
"Warning this interview might provoke Kenny Forsgren (Like Statues former Vocalist) to comment a bunch of shit about how he is the vocalist on the tracks you have just heard in the interview. So we would like to address the fact that Eric Booth is not the Vocalist who is on any of the recorded music you have just heard in the interview. and Eric knows this. Because he just joined the band. So obviously he didn't record those vocal tracks. We get it."
Soo this documentary from Dice and Wild Honey has been out for a few years, but it's still one of my favorite modern day chopper flicks. I've talked about a few guys in the film on here already but this lets you jump into their lives and might show you some people you've never heard of. Give it a watch it's worth it!

It's here now. Founders Novemberly seasonal Backwoods Bastard. This great big scotch is full of smokey, oaky-goodness. Sort of spiced, molasses notes. The barrels it's aged in impart some vanilla flavors. Huge 10.5% abv makes this one a bit of a sipper, much like a nice scotch. Good now, great later. Save this one in a cool, dark place for a year and you may notice some body added to it. The perfect boozy friend for the chilly nights we're inevitably dealing with now. Pair this with some of that left over halloween candy, because I know you still have some. Cheers!

Recently we had Adventurer frontman Steven Christy over to HQ to talk about tour, recently singing onto Blue Swan Records and writing for their upcoming album.
It's not that I'm upset. I'm just disappointed. I often am told, "I like stouts but not ales...". Well guess what fancy pants, a stout is an ale. So is that fruity beer your bff Jill likes to smash so when her boobs come out she can 'blame it on the a-a-a-a-a-alcohol'. To hopefully alleviate some of this confusion, I am going to give you the quick lowdown.
There are two types of beer: ales and lagers. Ales are any type of beer that is brewed at higher temperatures (60-75°F). It's the higher temp that allows the specific type of yeast to ferment and quicker than lager yeast. Lagers are brewed at lower temps (around 34°F) and then further stored in cooler temperatures to mature. Lager is a German word meaning "to store". Aside from obvious labeling, a lager will almost always announce itself with lighter, more crisp flavors. Almost always hay/straw in color. Pilsners, marzens and bocks are all prime examples of a lager. There's really not much more to lagers so that leaves just about everything else as an ale. Only a few random styles make an appearance in a 'hybrid' category.
So there you go. Next time your butthole friend says "Fuck IPA's! Give me a real ale!", you can tell him to go suck a randall. An IPA is an ale. CHEERS!

Creepy Cheapy is probably one of the biggest parties of the year! Good people Good Costumes, Good brew and all your favorite local acts all playing cover sets as their band of choice!
All in all an A+ party. If you are in the area next year, you must attend! Here are some pics from the party shot by Joe Gall aka Camera Jesus!
A lot of people try to mimic the bold style of a west coast IPA, and few get it right. Odd Side kind of nails it. As far as I'm concerned, it's the mid-west equivalent of Pliny the Elder. Had that beer before? Think my claim is ridiculous? Suck it. I've done the taste test and they're not far from each other. Dankerino is a juicy double IPA with notes of citrus, pineapple and a nice pine bite. Just bitter enough but still smooth drinking. Packs a sly punch at 10% too. The name just seals the deal for me. It really is a "dank" beer and the artwork is great. OVER THE LINE!
