BOYS OF FALL: FAREWELL

Its always sad news to hear when bands thrown in the towel. Especially when they are bands that have done the hard work, years of elbow grease, and labored in all the right ways. Our hats off to the Boys Of Fall dudes. We feel like these dudes gave it their best shot and they are off to bigger and better things. Nothing but love for these dude and how they have handled this exit.

Check this farewell statement

It's with the heaviest of hearts that today, we announce the end of Boys of Fall. This is one of the toughest decisions we as individuals have ever had to make, but over the last few months, it became clear that this was the right decision for all of us to move forward with.

Instead of drawing things out, we want our fans and everyone who supports us to know three things:
1. We LOVE you.
2. We held on to this as long as we could, not for us, but for YOU, our fans.
3. We will never forget the time we could all share together, and it was all possible because of you and your support.

It seems like everywhere we went, be it Oklahoma City, Monterrey Mexico, Lexington, KY or right at home in Detroit, someone would travel a long distance just to meet us and see us play because they had heard of us through a friend, through Johnny Franck or through Jarrod Alonge. That connection we had with you all inspired us and was the reason we held on for so long. We met so many beautiful people, learned so many lessons and saw so many things just because some people liked singing along with our music and like this little band of ours, and we think that's pretty cool.

We won't go in to detail as to why things fell apart the way they did, and please know that our bond as bandmates is as strong as it has ever been. This decision is not due to any internal conflict with us as band members and if you've ever met us or have seen us together before, you know that we are and always will be a family and love each other very very much. Having said that, one of our biggest regrets as a band is not releasing our music when we should have. We were advised not to release it, and in the end, we feel it was a big mistake. But now that all this is out in the open, we're going out the way we want to, and on our terms. So, we will be releasing a full length album, titled "Thank You & Goodbye." To celebrate this album release, we will be releasing some music videos, one of which you can see below, to support this record, and also will be doing a CD Release / Farewell show at The Crofoot Ballroom on June 10th. (Event page / flyer to be released soon) We want to make this night as special as possible, so please, save the date so we can have one more show together with all of you.

We want to thank the countless supporters and promoters, Jerry at Ricochet management, The Arbor Agency, and our agent Freddy Del Rio for taking a chance on us.

Please check out our new video for our song It's Always Sunny in Arkadelphia, and if you like it, share it.
The pre-order / album release date as well as a few brand new videos will be made available in the coming weeks, so be on the look out for those.

Thank you for making the last 5 years possible. We will never forget you.

"Thank You & Goodbye."

-Mike, Eli, Bean, Jake, Pat.

then the dudes release one of their best songs to date!

what a cock tease! make sure you guys all come out to their final show!

Daewon Song

Daewon is one of the few professional skaters taking Skateboarding down a completely unique and undiscovered rabbit hole. It shows that he really doesn't care about anything but pushing skateboarding as far down his own path and it's absolutely insane to me. I imagine the reason he uses the same board/shoes/beanie is the same reason Steve Jobs wore the same turtleneck everyday. One less thing to worry about to focus on his passion. It really perplexes me what drives Daewon to give his entire being into skateboarding when it isn't being asked of him. You just don't see many Pro's pushing themselves so hard for no monetary gain. While Tampa Pro/Street League is making skateboarding look more like Nascar...Daewon is always over somewhere else doing his thing (and by doing his thing, I mean doing things on a skateboard never before imagined) a true inspiration!

Obese Ghost Children : Eyelids

From Grand Rapids Mi Obese Ghost Child is making waves in some pretty rad ways. Beyond eloquent poetry and clever hooks OGC finds ways to fuze minimalism with a swelling lows that still fill the car.  Shits rad af but dont take my word for it. Check out their new visuals for EyeLids featuring Mister from Detroit's own Passalacqua.

Skate Icon : Rodney Mullen

Honestly id be really concerned if you claimed to know anything about skateboarding but have never heard of Rodney Mullen. Growing up in a city without a decent skate park nor anything bigger than a home made quarter pipe, we basically grew an appreciation for street skating. Personally i was always terrible at tricks but I loved watching the magic flow from Mullen. He was always my pick on Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2

Mullen pretty much wrote and re wrote the book on tricks that inspired the world. At 14 years old he straight slayed the reigning world champ at the Oasis Pro Comp which inevitably connected him to the freight train of talent in the 80's known as the Bones Brigade.  So this week we give mad props to a legend. To a dude who inspired the world and young skaters everywhere, that you can do amazing things if you work hard enough. -Aren
